MASTERS AT WORK
Dave’s relationship with Masters at Work — “Little” Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez — spans decades, beginning during one of the most creative periods in New York dance music and continuing through projects today.
Working together at Bass Hit Recording, the collaboration has encompassed engineering, mixing and production across Masters at Work releases, remixes and related projects. At the center of that history is Nuyorican Soul, the landmark project that brought together house, jazz, Latin and soul music with an extraordinary cast of musicians.
That relationship continues today through Brian Jackson’s "Now More Than Ever".

LAURIE BERKNER
Dave’s collaboration with Laurie Berkner has grown into a close creative relationship spanning more than a decade. Laurie has recorded her albums at Bass Hit throughout that period, relying on Dave not only as an engineer, mixer and mastering engineer, but as a trusted musical partner.
Their work together has ranged from full-band studio recordings to projects completed remotely, with Dave helping Laurie translate her ideas into finished records while preserving the spontaneity and personality at the heart of her music.
The relationship has continued across albums, songs and special projects, reflecting the kind of musical trust that develops through years of working together.

Anticipating a producer’s intentions is an essential part of engineering—the ability to understand what the producer is reaching for and help get there without interrupting the creative flow. Over the years, Dave has developed that kind of intuitive musical shorthand with many well-respected producers.
Built on trust, shared experience and an understanding of where the music is headed, those working relationships have also grown into friendships that extend beyond the studio.

SEGA / BEAT ON BEAT
Dave’s extensive work with SEGA grew through his longstanding collaboration with producer Atsushi “Sushi” Kosugi of Beat On Beat. Across numerous Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario & Sonic projects, Sushi has directed recording productions around the world, with Dave recording and mixing extensively at Bass Hit.
Their work together has continued across generations of the Sonic franchise, bringing music recorded by composers, arrangers and musicians around the world together in New York.
Over the years, the collaboration has also grown into a close friendship between their families—another example of how musical trust can extend far beyond the studio.
